Test data in COS Sandbox

We have populated the COS Sandbox with synthetic, yet realistic, test data. Our goal is to provide relevant test data for each available API in COS Sandbox. To support this, five general test patients are available in the Sandbox environment for testing and validating API functionality.

The following criteria were considered when creating the test data:

• Realistic data: A typical number of standard entries in a patient’s medical record.

• Minimum and maximum values: Explore threshold values.

• Special characters: For example, Å, Ä, Ö to see that character encoding works as intended.

If your company proceeds with a certification with Cambio, additional test patients and specific test data will be created and tailored to your company’s needs.

Good to Know: General COSMIC Structure

COSMIC is built around a defined set of structured clinical terms that describe everything from patient measurements and care contacts to diagnoses and medications. These terms form the foundation for how information is stored and interpreted across the system. Each term has a consistent meaning and structure, ensuring that all modules reference and interpret data in the same way.

COSMIC consists of interconnected modules, each responsible for a specific part of the clinical workflow. While each module focuses on its own domain, they operate on shared patient data and reference the same underlying information models and terminology. This shared foundation enables data entered in one module to be reused across other relevant parts of the system, ensuring consistency, reducing duplication, and supporting a unified view of patient information.

COSMIC terminology is aligned with established clinical coding systems, most commonly SNOMED CT, to support interoperability. When making or consuming API requests, it is therefore important to consider which coding systems and versions are used to ensure that clinical meaning is preserved across systems.

Available Test Data

Four of the general test patients provided are adults and contain identical data. The last of the test patients is a child and therefore includes age‑appropriate variations to the data. The test data is presented in the same categories as the APIs in link Explore APIs.

NOTE! Additional test records may be created by other Sandbox users. However, the predefined test data outlined below will remain intact and accessible.

NOTE! When extracting test data, ensure that the date filter spans from 2022-01-01 to the current date to guarantee that all data described below is captured.
